Kriegsmarine 4cm (40mm) Round Inert

Original German navy 4cm round (inert) as used by the Kriegsmarine recycling BEF stranded 40mm Bofors guns prior to the evacuation of Dunkirk. These guns once captured were seen as useful by the Germans so they made their own ammunition to keep them in service. This example features an original shell and head. Some minor stress cracks in the top of the shell. Nice clear KM markings on the underside. A rare piece not often seen.
