RAF Flight Lt Medal Grouping Leslie Sands Transport Command

Nice group of WW2 and later medals to Fl.Lt Leslie Sands who piloted Transport Planes in the Malaya and Arabia conflicts. He was commissioned as an officer at the end of 1944 and served well into the 1970s. Two of his medals (GSM & CSM) are both sterling silver and named. Original WW1 German army officers Lions head sword manufactured by E.F.Horster of Solingen. Superb original Ruby eyes on this example. Blade is absolutely perfect. A good amount of the gold guilt on the brass remains on the decorative parts of the sword. The only downside to this example is a loss of wire decoration on the grip of the sword.
