Single Decal German Army SE62 M40 Shrapnel Damage KIA Helmet

Original German army M40 helmet marked SE62 with the batch number 1504. Helmet complete with liner. Approx 70% of the decal remains present. Clear battle damage to the shell, where shrapnel hit the shell centrally, entering the helmet with ricochet and also another fragment in a smaller hole to the side of the lid. Unfortunately it is clear that the original wearer had this on his head at the time. The entire liner is completely blood soaked, drying almost completely black permanently staining the leather. This is an incredible wartime bring back, recently acquired from a collector who bought the helmet from a private estate in the USA.
