British Propaganda Leaflet Surrender of Cherbourg
Original British printed leaflet regarding the surrender of Generalleutnant Von Schlieben at Cherbourg. These leaflets were distributed by air over German fighting positions urging soldiers to drop their weapons and surrender to the allied forces. This two sided leaflet first explains the surrender of Von Schlieben and 18,000 other troops. The reverse tells the German soldier his basic rights in captivity and the promise of his return to Germany after the war. One rip in the top corner of the leaflet however apart from that, it remains in good shape.
