“Zur Erinnerung an den Weltkrieg” - In Remembrance Of The War 1914

Nice original WW1 period framed Iron Cross display of one man’s service during the Great War. The image depicts a superb glass transfer with multiple early war photographs of the soldier during service. Under the glass a bit of this transfer has chipped away when the photographs were placed however remains almost unrecognisable from a distance. The glass remains in good condition, complete in an oak frame with a golden boarder. Some minor wood worm holes in the frame are present. The reverse has a pinned card back, with optional fittings to hand or stand on a mantle. Underneath the stand, the producers label is present, reading - Glas-Ordensbild, Carl Reller Institut Für Kaiserländische Dekorations-Arfikel Hannover. A really nice unaltered time capsule. Frame dimensions are approximately 31cm X 24cm X 2.4cm.
