German Army Wehrpass Obergefreiter Hans Hoffmann (263ID & 132ID) Killed in Action Krim

Original German army Wehrpass issued to Obergefreiter Hans Hoffmann born 26.10.1913. First entries show that Hoffmann from August 1939- October 1940 served in Jager Regiment 485 part of the 263rd Infantry Division. This unit was involved in the battle of France and its occupation. From October 1940 to May 1942 he would serve with Infantry Regiment 437 subordinate to the 132nd Infantry Division. He would be involved in the Invasion of Yugoslavia and Russia. Hoffmann was killed in action during the heavy fighting in Krim (Crimea). Hoffmann trained with the K98K, MG13 and MG34 machine guns. He was awarded the Iron Cross Second class for bravery in April 1941 and would later be awarded the black wound badge in January 1942. Included with his Wehrpass are several sports certificates named Franz Hoffmann. We can best assume this may have been his brother.
