German Army Wehrpass Unteroffizier Wilhelm Frank Inf.Rgt.168 (82 Infantry Division) Battle of Kursk

Original German army Wehrpass issued to Unteroffizier Wilhelm Frank of Infantry Regiment 168 which formed part of the 82nd Infantry Division. Wilhelm Frank was born 9th April 1910 and first started military service July 1939 and predominantly served with Infantry Regiments 116 and 168. His units were involved with the invasion of France, occupation of the Netherlands, Operation Barbarossa and later the Battle of Kursk. The division was destroyed in Ukraine in Mid 1944 suffering heavy casualties and later being submerged into another division to increase operational strength. Frank trained with the K98K rifle and MG34. He was awarded the Iron Cross Second Class and Infantry Assault Badge in Silver in 1942 and in 1943 he was awarded the wound badge in black. Included with his Wehrpass is his DAF book.
