German Army Wehrpass Unteroffizier Johannes Dörner (263 ID/ 4th Panzer Division)

Original German Army Wehrpass issued to Unteroffizier Johannes Dörner born 08.11.1909. Dörner began his military career in September 1937 serving as an infantryman as part of the 115 Jager Regiment. Just prior to the outbreak of war in August 1939 he was reassigned to Infantry Regiment 463 part of the 263 Infantry Division. He continued service with them until March 1942. He was present for the Invasion of Belgium and the Soviet Union. By later March 1942 he was assigned to a pioneer unit (Pi.Ers.Rgt.79) subordinate to the 4th Panzer Division. He would fight at the Battle of Kursk. No records follow after January 1943. Dörner received extensive weapons training, using the K98K, MG13 and MG08/15.
