German Army Wehrpass Feldwebel Wilhelm Beringer Infantry Regiment 471 (251 Infantry Division)
Original German army Wehrpass issued to Feldwebel (Sergeant) Wilhelm Beringer born 14.08.1902. Prior to army service Beringer served in the Sturmabteilung, the paramilitary wing of the NSDAP. During this service he was issued the SA sports badge. He later completed all of the requirements for the Silver Reich sports badge as well. Beringers military career began in August 1939 and continued until February 1943. During this time he was attached to J.R.459 and Inf.Rgt.471 both subordinate to the 251st Infantry Division. The division operated during the Invasion of France and Operation Barbarossa until the unit was destroyed in 1943. Beringer was a qualified army driver and conducted weapons training with the K98K rifle and Luger P08. He was discharged unfit for service on the 23rd February 1943.
