US Army Waterproof Rifle Bag Dated 1943 For Amphibious Operations

Original Black waterproof rifle bag for the US Army Garand, Carbine and Springfield rifles. New old stock in perfect condition. No perishing or holes. All examples dated 1943 with depot stamps. These “throw away” bags were used as protection for rifles on amphibious operations, notably during the invasion of Italy and the Normandy landings. They would stop salt water, sand and debris from affecting the functionality of the firearm. We have received quite a few of these, the one you receive may differ very slightly from the one pictured. All of our examples pre date the Normandy Invasion.
