German Army Soldbuch Stabsgefreiter Johann Huber Inf.Regt.468/ Landeschutz Batl.435

Original German army Soldbuch issued to Stabsgefreiter Johann Huber of Infantry Regiment 468 (Sept 1940- Dec 1944) and later Landeschutz Bartalion 435 (January 1945 - End of service). Huber was issued his Soldbuch 25/09/1939 and held the same copy throughout the entire war, firstly serving in the invasion of France and later serving in operation Barbarossa. During his service in the eastern front he wound be in the Smolensk pocket and present for the battle of Kursk. During the invasion of the Soviet Union he was wounded by shrapnel and was awarded the wound badge in black. He was awarded the Iron Cross second class a month later in September 1941. Strangely enough, there is no entry for the Ost Front medal which he certainly would have been entitled to. He was also admitted to hospital in April 1941 with Venereal Disease, these days commonly known as a STI. A nice complete soldbuch, without ever being reissued.
