German Army Soldbuch Major Walter Bätz Beob.Abt.16 & 69 South Russia Many Awards

Original soldbuch issued to Major Walter Bätz (b.21/12/1909). Bätz predominantly served with Beobachtungabetilung.16 and 69 which were Artillery listening units serving in Southern Russia throughout the war. During his service Bätz was awarded Army Long service medal, Westwall Medal, Iron Cross 2nd and 1st Class, Merit Cross with Swords 2nd & 1st Class, General Assault Badge & Black wound badge. This soldbuch was reissued as a replacement in March 1943. His wounds and early military history during the war is not recorded, however it may be readily available online with him being an officer. Quite a few documents are present inside regarding Artillery training. A nice group worthy of more research.
