Early WW1 French Officer 12th Chasseurs à Cheval Single Breast Jacket
Scarce original French Cavalry Horizon blue Officers jacket as worn by the 12th Chasseurs à Cheval. Complete with correct period buttons and bullion wire embroidered collar insignia. Paris marked waist hook on the inside of the jacket. Collar, epaulette and cuff tresse in great shape. Cotton lined striped interior. Heavy amount of sweat and wear around the stiffened collar. Collar retains all three hooks. A superb example of a rare jacket, which was removed from service in 1915. Jacket has a few repairs and nips, nothing overly concerning for its age. Whilst the buttons are original correct, they look to have been reapplied. Recently found in a house clearance in the Hazebrouck area of Northern France.
