Large Grouping Hauptmann Heinrich Messmer Armee-Sanitäts-Abt.552 Served in Greece

Original grouping to Hauptmann Heinrich Messmer of Kranken-Trspt.Abt.572 who served under the command of Army Group E. Messmer first served in WW1 and raised to the rank of Leutnant. In the inner war period Messmer trained as a dentist and became a Doctor. In WW2 he served again as a Medical officer and doctor in Greece. He was awarded the War Merit Cross in First and Second class. He survived the war and later recieved a conviction of War Crimes as a minor offender, receiving a 300 DM fine as well as 3 years probation and exclusion from political activities. Messmer was a member of the NSDAP since 1931. Included in this lot is his Wehrpass, photos, two citations, conviction papers, Red Cross letters and many more documents relating to his service. A really nice complete grouping!
