Luftwaffe Soldbuch Siegfried Fritsch Gren.Regt.592 325th Infantry Division “Jutland” 1.Fallschrim Armee With Proficiency Badge Book & HJ Leistungsbuch
Original Luftwaffe late war Soldbuch issued to Unteroffizier Siegfried Fritsch who completed training with Flg.Ers.Batl.VII and later joined Grenadier Regiment 592 who were attached to the 325th Infantry Division “Jutland” based on the German Danish border. The unit was under the command of the 1st Fallschrim Armee and it appears that Fritsch had completed his training as a paratrooper however never jumping so late in the war and was therefore used as Infantry alongside 8,000 other new recruits. The 325th ID was made of these newly trained young paratroopers as well as a large number of wounded army personnel who were fit enough to continue the defence of the Reich. In his Soldbuch it also appears he did a one day Flak training with Schw.Flak-Ersatz-Abt.60 who was also attached to the division. No awards or wounds are listed. The unit eventually surrendered to British forces at Weser. Where there was almost two weeks of intense combat attempting to slow the British advance to the Northern sea ports still retained by the Kriegsmarine, where they were continuing to evacuate both military units and civilians from the Soviet Union.
Included alongside Fritsch’s Soldbuch is his Hitler Youth Proficiency badge book and Leistungsbuch. Unfortunately the training book is fire damaged however his name and DOB can still be seen. A nice late war group.
