German Army Wehrpass & Citation Group Gustav Bünn Wound Badge In Gold Inf.Regt.391 170th Infantry Division
Original German army grouping belonging to Obergefreiter Gustav Bünn. Born 4th June 1910 in Hamburg, Bünn joined the army in 1938 and was attached to 3rd Battalion Infantry Ersatz Battalion 76. His first combat experience was the battle of france with Infantry Regiment 391 (the unit he remained with for the rest of his service). He was regular infantry and also trained on machine guns when with the 4th MG Kompanie of the regiment. His weapons training alongside the K98k was the MG34 and P08 pistol. Bünn in 1941 was with the 170th Infantry division taking part in operation Barbarossa. He was awarded the Infantry Assault Badge in Silver and Iron Cross Second class. His citations for these awards are included. The Iron cross certificate is signed by the divisional commander, Generalmajor Erwin Sander (KC holder). Bünn was severely injured in 1942 and recieved the wound badge in gold. This citation is present with the wehrpass as well. Bünn had a long recovery but was no longer fit for service and was discharged on the 30th June 1944. His discharge certificate is present. Bünn’s Army and civilian drivers licenses or “Fuhrerschein” are included. A lovely group with a prestigious citation. His wehrpass lists all the awards as well as his combat history.
