Battle Of Britain HE111 Relic Art Work Crashed October 1940

Original aluminium panel taken from the crash site of a German HE111 bomber 2.KGR 126 which crashed 16th October 1940. Original black paint present indicating this was a part of the undercarriage, likely the gondola. A superb acrylic painting of the plane along with unit insignia has been added to the panel. A few sheets of paper come with this explaining that the plane struck a balloon cable at 3000 ft and burst into flames with no survivors. A conflicting report online reports the plane being shot down by AA fire. Certainly worthy of more research. Panel measures approximately 17cm X 13cm.
