German Army Soldbuch Obergefreiter Klement 243 Infantry Division Normandy

Original WW2 Soldbuch to Obergefreiter Gerhard Klement. Served from 16/06/1941 until wars end. Jäger Ers Regt 56 part of Grenadier Regt 922 under command of Oberst Bernhard Kloster-Kemper. Served in Normandy during D-Day landings as part of the 243 Infantry Division. Unit was disbanded/ Destroyed by US forces who landed at Utah Beach. Later joined 100th Jäger Division in Regiment 54, unit was posted to Silesia and later Hungary. On 20/04/1945 Klement was awarded the War merit cross with swords second class. After the war Klement was a prisoner of war until 1950. A very nice Normandy Soldbuch with an abundance of entries that could be further researched. It’s worth noting that the spine has been repaired on this Soldbuch and pages 9 & 11 have been reapplied the wrong way round.
